The reflector reports that Paternity fraud in Nigeria is the pretence that a Nigerian father is the legitimate and biological father of a child while he isn’t. It usually occurs when a woman deliberately misidentifies a man as the biological and legitimate father of her child.
According to DNA Experts, three (3) out of ten (10) Nigerian men are not biological father’s of their children.
DNA paternity tests are unraveling a lot of buried family secrets. Keeping family secrets isn’t as easy as it used to be and just one DNA test could change everything for better or for worse.
According to a DNA expert from Lagos University Teaching Hospital, he claimed that 30% of the Nigerian men who went to paternity testing centers (paternity testing laboratories) were not the biological fathers of the children in their custody.

The perception that paternity fraud is high in Nigeria is not unfounded. Reports have been making the rounds that Nigeria has the 2nd highest rate of paternity fraud in the world after Jamaica.
Jamaica has the highest paternity fraud at 36.4%, Nigeria 30%, Canada 2.8%, U.K 1.6% and France 1.4%.
