Civil Society Coalition Forum, (CSCF) A frontline National Advocacy group which comprises of Youth Advocates For Peace Justice And Empowerment Network (YAPJEN), Dream Nigeria Movement (DNM), United Nigeria Ambassadors and several other like minded organisations has commended the outgoing Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the Republic of Burundi, His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Elijah Onyeagba for his outstanding representation of Nigeria in the east African Country.

 

Amb. Timothy Nwachukwu LLB, The Director General, Civil Society Coalition Forum (CSCF) through a media release made available to newsmen in Abuja stated that “His Excellency Ambassador Elijah Onyeagba PhD, an Economist by training who bagged his first degree in Economics with 2.1 from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Master’s Business Administration in Finance from University of Calabar, Master’s in Applied Economics from the American University in Washington DC, A PhD in Economics (Public Policy) from the Prestigious Atlantic International University, Hawaii USA achieved an unprecedented feat that surpassed all the records of the Nigerian Mission in East Africa since its establishment”.

“When Dr. Onyeagba arrived the landlocked war torn east African Country, He drew from his experiences in the private sector to set up the first ever Nigerian-Burundi Business Council. In alliance with the Council, the Nigerian Mission organised a 3 day Nigeria-Burundi business summit which was declared open by the President of Burundi, His Excellency Mr. Evariste Ndayishimishe, under the theme “Economic Development through African Private Sector Investments”.

“The high point of that summit was the signing of an MOU by a Nigerian company to supply a Burundian company $20 million worth of Urea as a raw material for fertiliser production. A Nigerian real estate project worth $20 million is ongoing at their new capital called Kitega. Dr. Onyeagba futher facilitated a students exchange program and professorial research exchange between the University of Uyo, Nnamdi Azikiwe University and Burundian University. A Nigerian-owned five-star hotel exists in Bujumbura Burundi to gain from the rich tourism potential of Burundi. Also
a University with a Nigerian promoter, OliviaUniversity is active in Bujumbura and reshaping education in the landlocked country. Runbuja, coined from Burundi and Abuja, is a marathon event created by the Ambassador and sponsored by Dr. Elijah Onyeagba”.

Amb. Nwachukwu restated that “It’s on record that Nigerian Embassy has done a lot of programmes more than any other diplomatic mission in Burundi while Ambassador Onyeagba is unarguably the most popular diplomat in Burundi across all countries, in so much that the South African ambassador to Burudi, confessed that Amb.
Onyeagba has outperformed him and other diplomats”.

Amb. Timothy Nwachukwu appealed to President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR to consider the remarkable achievements and ambassadorial exploits of His Excellency Amb. Elijah Onyeagba PhD in the landlocked east African Country and his active role during the Presidential Election campaign as a member of the APC Presidential campaign Council and appoint him to a higher national assignment as his prowess experience and unparallel initiatives will be very useful in achieving the Renewed Hope Agenda.
