The Ondo state high court on Thursday terminated a contempt suit against the Speaker of the Ondo state of Assembly, Bamidele Oleyelogun and three others.
Justice Samuel Bola terminated the suit after parties agreed to an amicable position, after it was evident that Oleyeloogun and the house had complied with his earlier order to reinstate the four suspended lawmakers.
The court had earlier quashed the suspension of four lawmakers, Favour Tomowewo, Adewinle Williams, Tomide Akinrinbido and Ogundeji Iroju by their colleagues.
They were reinstated by the house on monday though the contempt suit had already been instituted before the court against the speaker and three others.
Justice Bola appreciated efforts the Ondo state Attorney General and Justice Commissioner, Titiloye Charles in the amicable resolution of the crisis and promise that the outstanding emoluments of the four lawmakers will be paid as soon as possible.
He also commended the speaker, Bamidele Oleyelogun and other members for showing in court to honour the court summon.
