VIDEO: Peter Obi Replies Pastor Kumuyi’s Appeal For Nigerians To Support Tinubu
Nigerians harshly criticized Pastor Kumuyi, the founder of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, after he urged them to back president Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
Pastor Kumuyi said that through President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his cabinet, God will transform Nigeria. He pleaded on Nigerians to put the past of individuals in Tinubu’s administration behind them and to refrain from criticizing any of their deeds or inactions. That, according to him, is essential if Tinubu’s administration is to provide Nigerians with decent governance.
However, Peter Obi addressed the impact of religious figures on Nigerian politics in an earlier interview with Arise TV. Peter Obi claims that despite his respect for religious authorities, he disagrees with them in some situations, particularly those involving politics.
He clarified that certain religious figures spread the idea that poor governance results from “God’s will”. Peter Obi went on to say that such comprehension is a key factor in political leaders’ underperformance and the manipulation of the system.
