Today, 27th July, 2023 the Anti-kidnapping squad in collaboration with other security agencies has once again achieved success in strategic arrest of alleged kidnappers kingpin called “GUNNER” and his accomplice, responsible in carrying out deadly attacks and killing in recent time round the South Eastern part of Nigeria. As allegedly speculated, they are of Fulani origin(a nomadic tribe in Northern Nigeria) and has almost all the road routes in South East region especially in Ebonyi, Enugu and Abia State, where they operate and escape easily without rigorous trace while they inhabit more in the bushes but luck fell out on them as they were tracked down around Garriki, Lonkpanta Okigwe Road, Abia State, and taken to state command for more investigation and prosecution.

Haven confessed to numerous crime after the arrest, “Gunner”(the kidnappers Kingpin) was allegedly responsible and masterminded the recent kidnapping of Amonye woman (Mrs Onachukwu Nkechinyere) at her farmland on 18th July, 2023 and rescued on the 22nd Day of July, 2023 through the intervention of the Council chairman, Hon. Chief Ajah Emmanuel Ogbonna who went all out with security agencies to bring the perpetrators to book.

Also the prime suspected killer of the INEC officer who was driving home with his spouse, on the deadly incident that happened on 18th June, 2023 along Ishiagu/mpu Road wherefore his wife was kidnapped and later released and a farmer (Mr. Okafor Ajah) killed in the process, while his accomplice was captured on 24th June,2023 through the help of the council Chairman.

And more responsible in unfortunate incidents that happened along Ishiagu/Agwu express road where some of their victims were unjustifiably killed in the process and carter away with their valuables and so many evil operations round the South Eastern part of the country.

Thus, the council chairman has remained resolute and promised to continue to work round the clock with security agencies in the state in fetching out criminal elements terrorising the environments and carrying out unlawful operations.
