Breaking: Angry mobs burn police station, LG Secretariat in Okitipupa

Angry mobs in Okitipupa town, headquarters of Okitipupa local government area of Ondo State have allegedly set the Okitipupa Divisional Police Station and Okitipupa Local Government Secretariat on fire.

A witness told our heritage reporter that trouble started after the police attempted to force the angry protesters to obey the declaration of curfew by the Ondo State Government.

Our heritage reporter gathered that the altercation between the Police and the angry mobs led to the burning of the police station on Thursday, while they were prevented by the Nigerian Army from attacking the Correctional Service (former Nigerian Prison) in the town.

Our heritage reporter learnt that the angry mobs were said to have returned to the local government secretariat and set it ablaze.

Over 200 seized motorcycles and valuable properties at the Police Station were reportedly released to the public, our heritage reporter gathered

EndSARS protests in different parts of the country including Okitipupa town, Ondo town and Akure City in Ondo State have resulted into the wanton destruction of valuable properties by unknown hoodlums suspected to have high jacked the struggle against police brutality
