Oru West SOLAD commends Uzodimma for saving Igbo traders in Lagos
The Sole Administrator of Oru West Local Government Area of Imo State, Hon. Willie TC Okolieogwo, has commendation the Governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma, for mediating peace among Igbo traders and Lagos State Government.
Speaking in Owerri on Wednesday, Okolieogwo said the intervention of the Governor on the impasse between Igbo traders and Lagos State Government over the demolition of Alaba International Market in which understanding and peace were reached was a sign of deep love for the people of South East.
The Chairman, Association of Local Government of Nigeria, ALGON, stated that the effort made by the Governor shows that he is a good leader who has the interest of the Igbo and Nigeria at his heart, saying his positive action has reduced tension among the Igbo traders and others doing business in the market.
Okolieogwo added that crime and violence which would have been witnessed in both Lagos State, South East and some parts of Nigeria if there were no truce, peace and understanding among the warring parties were averted hence the Governor’s prompt mediation.
He posited that the APC led government in Imo and Lagos States have good listening ears and could stop at nothing to formulate nor implement policies that are not in the interest of the people, asserting that Governor Hope Uzodimma and Babajide Sanwo-Olu are visionaries who he said have always demonstrated fairness, patriotism, liberalism and pragmatism in leadership, governance and politics.
He therefore called on the traders and other residents of the state to shun racism, brutishness and violence, but tolerate each other with a view to living safely, fruitfully, happily and prosperously therein.
Okolieogwo who prayed for divine strength and wisdom of the Governors, urged Imolites to support the reelection bid of Governor Hope Uzodimma to enable him consolidate good governance and security in the state.
