THE 4 DIAMETERS OF LOVE – Pastor Isaac Olutimehin
TEXT:
Ephesians 3:17-19 KJV.
“That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love”,
[18] “May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height”;
[19] “And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God”.
MESSAGE
☆☆☆ Paul the apostle, was teaching the people of Ephesus about the love of Christ.
☆☆☆ He was so passionate about how to “be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and the length, and depth, and height” of love.
☆☆☆ I want us to look at the 4 diameters of love today as the Holy Spirit will be leading us.
1. What is the “breadth of love” as exemplified by Christ?
☆☆☆ Christ came to die for all of us.
“And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again” – 2 Corinthians 5:15.
☆☆☆ How wide is your love towards your fellow brethren!!
☆☆☆ Do you love only those you can benefit from?
☆☆☆ Is your love for others discriminatory?
☆☆☆ How do you relate with your in-laws?
☆☆☆ Christ came to die for sinners and not for the saints alone.
☆☆☆ Jesus offered himself as a sacrifice for all mankind.
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” – Romans 5:8.
2. What is the “length of love” by Christ’s standard?
☆☆☆ How long can you accommodate your fellow brother/sister who hurts you?
☆☆☆ Jesus Christ was teaching about forgiveness in the book of Matthew chapter 18 and the bible recorded this for us ????
Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?
[22] Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven – Matthew 18:21-22.
☆☆☆ The love of God towards us cannot be measured, he expects us to express same to our fellow being.
☆☆☆ The bible encourages us to keep on forgiving others who offend us ????
“For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you” – Matthew 6:14.
3. What is the “depth of love” according to the scripture?
☆☆☆ How do you relate with those who are under you? Depth of love.
☆☆☆ How do you treat your subordinates!! Do you deny them of their rights and privileges?
☆☆☆ Remember, the bible says ????
“Thou shalt not oppress an hired servant that is poor and needy, whether he be of thy brethren, or of thy strangers that are in thy land within thy gates”.
[15] “At his day thou shalt give him his hire, neither shall the sun go down upon it; for he is poor, and setteth his heart upon it: lest he cry against thee unto the Lord, and it be sin unto thee” – Deuteronomy 24:14-15.
☆☆☆ As a leader in your organization or church, are you accessible to your people when they are in need of you!!
☆☆☆ Again the bible says ????
“Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord” – James 5:14.
☆☆☆ Are you using your position to oppress or to better the lives of others!!
☆☆☆ Don’t just pray or sympathize with them but assist too where and when you are able to do so.
4. What is now the “height of love” by God’s standard?
☆☆☆ Our love must first be unto God, who is above and above all.
“And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might” – Deuteronomy 6:5.
☆☆☆ As children of the Most High God, we must also love those who are above us. Your boss in the office, your superiors, your parents, etc.
☆☆☆ What is the relationship between you and your parent!! Has your parent suddenly become witches and wizards now that you are grown up, well educated and having a good job!!
☆☆☆ Note that the bible counsels ????
“Honour thy father and thy mother, as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee; that thy days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with thee, in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee” – Deuteronomy 5:16.
☆☆☆ You cannot honour the fellow you don’t love except if you want to pretend.
☆☆☆ It is my fervent prayers for all who are privileged to read through this message today that the God of heaven will make these 4 corners of love to become manifest in your life in Jesus mighty name.
PRAYERS
1. Lord Jesus, give me the grace to love others unconditionally as you love me.
2. Father, help me to forgive and love those who have hurt me.
3. Please Lord, surround me with people who will be willing to assist me tirelessly based on sincere love.
4. In my marriage, father please, let this 4 diameters of love become manifest in Jesus name.
5. Father, don’t allow me to become a casualty of fake love in Jesus name.
6. Separate from the pathway of my life, every unfriendly friend in Jesus name.
7. Oh Lord my God, please don’t allow my sacrifices of love to be in vain.
PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS
I decree, in your marriage, you will experience love as exemplified by Christ in Jesus name.
I decree, the power of love shall swallow up every storm raging in your marriage in Jesus name.
I decree and declare, the love of God shall release to you this day every good desire of your heart in Jesus name.
You will not become a victim of false love in Jesus mighty name.
Your life will not provide any hiding place for fake friends in Jesus name.
Destroyers of glorious destinies will not cross your pathway in Jesus name.
