The guber candidate who is also the National Secretary of the party said that “it is better for God to expose your household enemies and save you from their planned destruction than to be consumed by it under your nose.”

Anyanwu spoke through his Media Aide, Ikenna Onuoha, in a phone interview with our reporter on Sunday.

According to him, “Imo PDP still remains intact and unshakable. Our party is even waxing stronger by the day with the gradual exit of some moles who did not mean well for the guber candidate.”

According to him, “there is nothing wrong in an individual leaving a party. It is a normal thing in modern politics. But to think of the party losing ground because of their exit is lies from the pit of hell. Imo PDP is still very strong and intact with or without them. The party will simply look for genuine and more capable persons to fill in the space.”

Anyanwu further debunked the allegations leveled against him by the exited members of State Working Committee, that he had been a thorn on their flesh since his emergence as the National Secretary of the party.

He said he had used his position to restore normalcy in the party and galvanize party members preparatory to the forthcoming governorship election.

He urged Imo people not to be deterred in their struggle for good governance, safety and dividends of democracy by aligning with the PDP, reiterating his readiness to sack the governor of Imo state and guber candidate of APC come November 11 governorship election.

It would be recalled that the Imo state Vice chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Martin Ejiogu alongside the secretary, Nze Ray Emeana, the Publicity Secretary, Collins Opuruzor, the woman leader, Maria Mbakwe, the youth leader, Greg Nwadike and two other executive members of the Imo state PDP, on Sunday morning, in a press conference, resigned their various positions and dumped the party over alleged high-handedness on the side of the governorship candidate, Senator Samuel Anyanwu.

The state party chairman, Engr. Charles Ugwu, was yet to react to the development as at the time of filing this report.
