The recent firestorm arising from the manufactured fake news controversy about Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa has left many observers wondering about how low some desperate people are willing to descend in an effort to drag the name and reputation of an upstanding and exemplary gentleman through the proverbial mud. It is one thing to lay out salient facts in a bid to pass relevant information to the general public, to encourage good works or to criticize the actions of others but a whole different ballgame to create a fantasy targeted at destroying an innocent man’s legacy for political reasons.
For the record, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa has always been a man solely focused on adding value in whatever role he finds himself. He has always been a team player, a hard worker, a pacifist, a dedicated father and husband and a role model to many citizens of Ondo State and beyond. So why then are some people threatened by such a personality? What kind of psychological malaise can this development be attributed to? What kind of endgame are these shifty characters edging their bets on?
Whatever that may be they will surely fail because Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa is a man of many supporters across the nooks and crannies of Ondo State and beyond. His impeccable character is without question one of his major selling points as a person and a political figure. This is why the current media fake news hoopla being engineered by a nebulous group with zero respect for the truth is a public show of shame by a desperate few who have chosen to tread on the path of dishonour by dancing naked in the marketplace. No matter the diversion Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa remains committed and loyal to his incomparable boss and his party the APC. His mandate has been on how best to bring the dividends of Democracy closer to the people of the Sunshine State irrespective of religion, tribe or political affiliation. His usual calm and measured demeanour has made many admirers realize his personal value goes beyond mere words and scripted activities.
It is therefore pertinent at this point in time to remind his political detractors that they can only try to demystify this upright and debonair gentleman but they will never succeed in stopping his momentum towards greater heights. That particular train has left the station a long time ago. The future of Ondo State is far bigger and more important than the selfish personal ambitions of a few shadowy figures. It is time they wake up and smell the coffee!
