ABLAZE FOR GOD – Pastor Isaac Olutimehin
TEXT:
Acts 28:3-6 KJV.
“And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand”.
[4] “And when the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live”.
[5] “And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm”.
[6] “Howbeit they looked when he should have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they had looked a great while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god”.
MESSAGE
☆☆☆ Paul was on a missionary journey, it was cold and he went to gather some sticks to warm himself.
☆☆☆ That “wiper” had been hiding within those sticks even while Paul was carrying them on his shoulder.
☆☆☆ However, when the same “wiper” experienced the touch of “fire”, the heat of that fire flushed it out.
☆☆☆ Beloved, there cannot be any hiding place, for the devil or his agents in your life, once your prayer altar remains too hot for them to hibernate.
☆☆☆ From the above passage, let us quickly look at 5 things to note in the life of any man who is ablaze for God.
1. No harm can befall him.
☆☆☆ The serpent had been within those sticks while Paul laid them upon his shoulder but nothing happened to him.
☆☆☆ No wonder the bible says ????
“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you” – Luke 10:19.
☆☆☆ When you carry the fire of God, the witches and wizards are to run away from you and not the other way round.
☆☆☆ If you are afraid to visit your place of birth, because of household enemies, you may need to rekindle the fire of God upon your life.
2. When the enemies think he will stumble and fall, he shall stand.
☆☆☆ You will be amazed if you know how many people don’t want you alive. How many people don’t want you to wake up alive today.
☆☆☆ There are some people out there who want you to stumble and die while walking along the road.
☆☆☆ Verse 6 of our text today says????
“Howbeit they looked when he should have swollen, or fallen down dead”.
☆☆☆ Beloved, the wicked is secretly monitoring your footsteps for evil.
☆☆☆ Bible says ????
“They gather themselves together, they hide themselves, they mark my steps, when they wait for my soul” – Psalm 56:6.
3. His life cannot be the habitation for the wicked.
☆☆☆ When you are ablaze for God, there is no hiding place for the devil in your life.
☆☆☆ In verse 3 of our bible verses for today, the snake came out from it’s hiding place immediately it experienced the heat of the fire.
☆☆☆ When your prayer altar is hot, no demon can stand. You will become a terror to witches and wizards.
☆☆☆ Check the encounter of prophet Elijah with the fifty soldiers sent to arrest him. Read 2 Kings 1:9-14.
4. His life shall become an amazement to the wicked.
☆☆☆ When you are ablaze for God, people will be wondering how you are coping, even in the midst of challenges.
☆☆☆ From our main text for today, the people looked at Paul and said he must be a god.
☆☆☆ The Psalmist said ????
“I am as a wonder unto many; but thou art my strong refuge” – Psalm 71.7.
☆☆☆ When your life is ablaze for God, you will be smiling in the midst of trouble, even while several others are afraid.
☆☆☆ When you are ablaze for God, the enemies will set traps for you, but they will replace you in that trap.
☆☆☆ For the bible says ????
“Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein: and he that rolleth a stone, it will return upon him” – Proverbs 26:27.
5. His life shall become an epistle that draws others to God.
☆☆☆ From our main passage for today, those people quickly changed their minds concerning Paul when they saw a wonder.
☆☆☆ Beloved, the lives of Christians have become the epistle that people read.
☆☆☆ The bible says ????
“Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men” – 2 Corinthians 3:2.
☆☆☆ Beloved, live your life so well to show forth the glory of God.
☆☆☆ When the life of a man is ablaze for God, even the gentiles shall see his light and be willing to serve his God.
☆☆☆ For the scripture says ????
“And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising” – Isaiah 60:3.
ABLAZE FOR GOD.
PRAYERS
1. Oh God my father, please rekindle your fire upon my life in Jesus name.
2. Father, don’t allow the enemies to quench the fire on my altar of prayers.
3. Father, let the heat of your fire, burning inside of me, roast every obstacle standing on the pathway of my greatness.
4. Oh God, in the midst of the challenges of life, let my life become an amazement to many.
5. Father, please don’t allow my life to become the habitation for the wicked.
6. I command the fire of God, upon my life, to expose and flush out every unfriendly friend around me.
7. Father, please uproot whatever you have not destined to be in my life.
8. Let my life oh God, become an epistle that draws others to God in Jesus name.
9. My life shall not become a disappointment to God.
10. I am for signs and wonders to my generation in Jesus name.
PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS
For you this day, I decree, every enemy hiding in your life shall be exposed and flushed out in Jesus name.
As the heat of that fire, of our bible passage today, exposed the viper; I decree and declare, the fire of the Holy Ghost shall make your life uncomfortable for the wicked in Jesus name.
Once again, I decree, whatever the Lord has not created with you but secretly hiding in your life; shall be uprooted now in Jesus name.
As you pray, I decree, every “viper” hiding among your “bundle of sticks” shall be exposed in Jesus mighty name.
The heat of your prayer life shall become too unbearable for the enemies in Jesus name.
No financial parasite is permitted to hide within your finances in Jesus name.
May you not fall asleep on the altar of prayers in Jesus name.
Once again, I decree and declare, every “viper”; trying to fight back as a result of your prayers, shall experience the wrath of the One who is called “the consuming fire”.
The Peace of God shall rest upon you and yours in Jesus name.
