Emerging Leaders Call on President Tinubu to Overhaul The National Orientation Agency (NOA)
The National President, Emerging Leaders Forum of Nigeria (ELFON); Amb. Godstime Chukwubuikem Samuel has called on President Bola Tinubu to overhaul the National Orientation Agency (NOA) in his drive to have Nigerians kept fully abreast with his policies and programmes and at same time, enjoy their massive support all through his tenure.
He made the call during a recent appearance on a mainstream news program and was also In a statement signed by Amb. Godstime Chukwubuikem Samuel;
ELFON National President released to our heritage reporter, where issues surrounding the removal of fuel subsidy and the ways to alleviate its attendant harsh impacts on Nigerians were discussed.
It was during the discussion that the National youth leader pressed on the need for an overhaul of the National Orientation Agency, noting that despite being a vital platform for disseminating information and shaping public opinions, the agency has fallen short of its responsibility to enlighten citizens on crucial matters such as the fuel subsidy.
He urged, Mr. President, to take swift action and initiate the necessary reforms within the National Orientation Agency.
It is crucial to note that a well informed citizenry is essential for the success of any nation and Nigeria is no exception. The lack of awareness and understanding of the fuel subsidy issue has perpetuated misinformation among the Nigerian population.
Godstime reiterated the urgent need for viable women and youth groups like the ELFON and others to be well carried along in the planning and consultation processes on critical policies by government and it’s agencies so as to have a faster reach to the grassroots thereby gaining massive supports adding that the ELFON will fully support all well meaning policies of government at all levels.
Therefore the new administration under the leadership and guidance of President Bola Tinubu must ensure that the National Orientation Agency is adequately overhauled, equipped to fulfill its mandate of educating Nigerians on government policies, especially concerning issues as crucial as ending the dubious and fraudulent fuel subsidy regime.
The ELFON leader further urged the new Presidency to immediately begin the implementation of well designed process of applying youth developmental programmes to ameliorate the effects on all Nigerians and not just the Civil servants.
