MESSAGE
☆☆☆ We often hear this phrase “as my lord pleases”, at the floor of the court whenever lawyers are addressing the judges.
☆☆☆ The truth of it is that, there is no judge or president or ruler anywhere in the world who can do “as he pleases”. Relax before you disagree.
☆☆☆ Even if there are some who may want to try it, the laws of the land will checkmate them.
☆☆☆ There are even some people who can stand to challenge such leaders.
☆☆☆ Where there are tyrant rulers who may not want to respect the laws of the land, this can only last for a while.

☆☆☆ When you are now talking about the Almighty God, no council meeting can hold before he takes a decision.
☆☆☆ And when he does, his authority cannot be questioned or challenged.
☆☆☆ David was not considered qualified to be king, even by his own father who never recommended him. However, it pleased God to search him out from the wilderness where they left him, and made him king. Read 1Samuel 16:10-13.

☆☆☆ Joseph was number 11 of Jacob’s children, almost the youngest but for Benjamin. His age didn’t stop God from making him the one who others in the family, including his father; would have to look up to for sustenance. It pleased God and nobody could challenge his authority.
☆☆☆ Jacob loved Rachel much more than he loved Leah but that didn’t stop God from making Leah fruitful and closing the womb of Rachel. Read Genesis 29:31. That was the way it pleased the Lord.
☆☆☆ Jacob and Esau were both children of Isaac from the same womb. When God said, “Jacob have I loved but Esau have I hated”, Romans 9:13, Isaac (their father) couldn’t query God, Why? It pleased God to prefer Jacob to Esau.

☆☆☆ Gideon was to lead Israel into battle with 32,000 strong army but God said he didn’t need that large number of soldiers for him to gain victory over the enemies. He pruned the number down to 300 soldiers and those 300 defeated the enemies. Read Judges 7:2-7.
☆☆☆ Jehoshaphat was to go into battle and he had the leading of God not to use any weapons of war, just praising God. The enemies who came with weapons, used their own weapons against one another until “every one helped to destroy another”, Read 2 Chronicles 20:21-23. It pleased God to ridicule the might of men.

☆☆☆ Goliath looked down on David as a small boy and very inexperienced in battles. But God saw in David a mighty man of valour and Goliath fell. Read 1Samuel 17:42,50. It pleased God to show to the world that it is not by might nor by power but by the spirit of the Lord.
☆☆☆ Haman, the unrepentant enemy of Mordecai and all the Jews was the same man God used to recommend the type of promotion due to Mordecai. Read Esther 6:7-10.

☆☆☆ The bible has this to say about God ????

“This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men” – Daniel 4:17.

Only God, and no one else, can do as he pleases.
As the Lord pleases, should refer to God and God alone.
