Unsettled by the continuous leaking of its plans, the Unity Group of the Ondo APC in its determined effort to get a consensus candidate to slug it out with Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, the incumbent governor, in the APC Governorship primaries in the state appears to be jittery.
This can be seen in the latest release by the chairman of the group, Alhaji Alli Olanusi where he claimed a mole is in the group leaking the decisions of the group to its enemies.
In the release, Alhaji Olanusi had dismissed social media and online news platforms claim that the group has settled for a consensus candidate from the South Senatorial District of the state.
Meanwhile it appears the group is not happy about this development and as such has mapped out a new strategy to beat the Akeredolu camp.
In the latest plan, the Unity Group has settled for the candidacy of Olaide Adelami, a kinsman of Akeredolu and also an indigene of Owo to fly its flag in the primaries.
According to an impeccable insider in the group, this plan is to frustrate the ambition of the governor since Adelami is said to be loved by his people, especially the aged and the widows who are being given monthly stipends by the aspirant.
The source said that the choice of Adelami is to be used as a ploy to pave way for what he called Akoko Agenda.
He disclosed that the high point of the latest plant is for the Akoko preferred candidate to contest under another party citing fraud in the choice of the groups choice since it has dawned on the group that Adelami may not be able to beat Akeredolu who appears to have a larger percentage of the people of Owo following him.
