A socio-political group; Akure Coalition for Democracy has canvassed support of the national

of the House of Representatives.

In the 10th Assembly Ondo state deserves a Principal position this time. We therefore want to use
this opportunity to draw the attention of the party leadership to some lapses in the leadership
of the National Assembly especially at the Federal House of Representatives. Since 1999 to date
Ondo an Ekiti State has not held any of the leadership positions in the house zoned to the South
West zone, while other States in the South West have had the opportunity of occupying these
positions at one time or the other and even twice.

HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES PRINCIPAL OFFICERS FROM THE SOUTH WEST 1999 TO DATE

  1. Deputy Whip 1999-2003 Samuel Sadiq Anwo PDP OYO

  2. Deputy Whip 2003-2007 Patricia Ette PDP OSUN

    Whip
    2019 – 2023 Adekoya Adesegun Abdel-Majid PDP OGUN

Among the reasons we are backing Ondo state and Hon. Prince Abiodun Adesida in particular are
as follows: In this 2023 presidential election, according to results on IREV portal of Independent
National Electoral Commission(INEC), Ondo State recorded 369,924 votes while Ekiti had 201,494
votes for the President Elect; Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

It is worthy of note that Akure South
delivered half of the entire votes, in view of this, Ondo State and Akure in particular deserves to
be rewarded and supported for the position of the 10th Deputy Speaker of the House of
Representatives or any principal position zoned to the Southwest

According to Chairman of the group, Gbenga Fasoranti, Akure Coalition for Democracy (ACD) is
made up of young political enthusiasts across all political parties in the capital city, Akure.

When
speaking with newsmen on Monday in Akure, Ondo State capital, he said the choice of Prince Adesida was based on his intelligence, immense capability and performance as a legislator.

Prince Adesida has impacted positively on his community and Federal constituency as a respected
politician and leader across the political divides. During his first term in the House of
Representatives, he facilitated the installation of the completed but yet to be commissioned
2×150 330/132/33KV Power Substation to improve power supply in Ondo and Ekiti States.

This will stop our dependence on the age long power grid at Osogbo. Many communities in the
Federal Constituency were also provided with transformers to improve power supply to their
communities. Prince Abiodun Adesida also facilitated the employment of a number of Akure
North and South Federal Constituency into the Custom Services other security and government
agencies during his first term and as we speak today, they are top notch within the service.

In this election, the good people of Akure demonstrated their love for Prince Adesida by voting for
our President Elect.

He added that there is no doubt that Hon. Prince Abiodun Adesida has the capacity to perform
creditably at the green chambers either as a Deputy Speaker or any Principal office he found
himself. The leadership of Akure Coalition for Democracy has therefore, unequivocally resolve
to support and appeal to the vast majority of elected Federal House of Representatives members
to galvanize their support for Hon.

Prince Abiodun Adesida to be elected as the Deputy Speaker,
House of Representatives, or any principal office zoned to the Southwest in the incoming 10th Assembly, he said
