Like Chief Obafemi Awolowo SAN , Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu SAN came into office with the twin promises of regular payment of workers salaries and to leave Ondo state far better than he met it in terms of massive industrialization and infrastructural development of the state . Lo and behold, the gentleman has stayed absolutely faithful to the fulfilment . Aketi established a government that is second to none in Nigeria in terms of industrialization and infrastructural development of the state .
One area where Akeredolu deserves applause is the fact that all projects inherited from his predecessor are now either completed or at various advanced completion stages. This is also in addition to new projects initiated by him that are either completed now or still ongoing.
It is noteworthy that Akeredolu has
delivered up to 100 kilometres of roads in Ondo state across the three senatorial districts. Akeredolu do not discriminate between federal and state roads -Among all the governors that has ever served in ondo state , Aketi has performed better in three years More than anyone of them in eight years in terms of developmental projects across the 18 local government’s:
Aketi introduce credibility, integrity into governance- He will never promise what he will not do – you can take his words to the bank : Some of the achievements are
*Prompt payments of salaries of civil servants ( the previous government owed nine months salaries despite better funding from the FGN monthly subventions
*Rehabilitation and construction of new roads across the state.
*Construction of 100 bed space hospital at ifon
*Renovation of about 500 public primary schools and provisions of modern toilets in each of the primary schools across the state.
*The multi billion fly over at ore.
*Industrial estate at ore so many company’s have been established in that place.
*Newly 400 recruited people as revenue officers in the state
- Special intervention fund to all the tertiary institutions in Ondo State
The Ondo-Linyi Industrial Hub has Automobile Assembly Plant, Paper Mill Factory, Textile Company, largest Cassava to Ethanol Factory in Nigeria, as well as the country’s first MDF Factory that produces high-density fibre and marine boards. It has the capacity to create 50,000 jobs for the good people of Ondo-State – this is the first bold move by any government in the south west after the great days of Chief Awolowo government
The Vision of Aketi is to make Ondo State the economic, industrial and technology-driven commercial hub of the South West geo-political zone where quality of life is sustained in both the rural enclaves and urban centres based on the principles of regional competitiveness and integration. The cardinal principles are listed below:

I – Infrastructure
Today , I am surprised that we still have few people still campaigning for some moribund and I’ll-fated candidates instead of total support for Aketi for second term so that he can accomplish the plan for the ONDO SEA PORT and the EXPLORATION and DEVELOPMENT of the bitumen which will make Ondo State the second commercial capital of Nigeria
History is replete with such examples of cynical, jaundiced and confused electorates voting against their best interests. In psychology it’s known as the ‘Stockholm Syndrome” a condition where the victim displayed unflinching adoration, and loyalty to his captor and tormentor !
For instance the Jews chose Barabbas over Christ and Baal over Yahweh! The Greeks sentenced Socrates and Pythagoras to their deaths, while the Sophists and other assorted charlatans were honored and cherished as the harbingers of truth and knowledge! That’s why the Hindus called our times, the age of Khali , where ignorance, political expediencies and machinations rule. the day!
The good news is that I am assured that in the next few days the situations of political fatigue and discouragement shall pass away. Eventually ,and as history has shown ,the electorates would become more determined in their efforts for better life And as they become more enlightened, optimistic and aware of their fundamental rights to the wealth and resources that the State has been abundantly blessed ,they will not only participate more enthusiastically and passionately in their choice of Aketi as their governor in the next four years ,but they will vigorously fight for their God given rights by choosing ARAKUNRIN OLUWAROTIMI ODUNAYO AKEREDOLU – the leader who have the right visions and the ‘know how’ to bring them what they truly deserve : Life ,liberty and the opportunities to be the best they could be !
