Just In : Man, seven others allegedly kidnapped neighbours 7-year-old Son, collected N4m ransom
No fewer than eight persons have been arrested and paraded by the Sokoto State Police Command over alleged kidnapping of a seven-year-old boy in the state.
The PUNCH reported that the men were arrested after the boy’s father, one Suleman Musa, reported his kidnap at the State Criminal Investigation Department.
The state Commissioner of Police, Muhammed Gumel, while parading the suspects, said the boy was kidnapped by unknown persons around 2:35pm on December 4 according to his father.
The CP said the boy was kept for four days before he was released after a ransom of N4m was paid by his family.
The CP said, “Painstaking police investigation identified one Haliru Riskuwa, who is a neighbor to the family and popularly known as Lopetee, and he was subsequently arrested.
“According to him, he committed the crime along with one Abdullahi Umar and Faruku Usman Binji. All the suspects are in police custody, except Faruk Usman Binji, who is still at large. So far, N2.5m cash has been recovered from the suspects.”
