Just In : 5 Fake EFCC Officers Arrested In Delta State After Extorting People In Delta State
5 young men, who have been posing as EFCC officers have been arrested by the Delta State Police Command. The suspects have been posing as EFCC officers and defrauding some people of their hard earned money.
According to the details, the 5 suspects arrested were Prince Allison (29 years old), George Chisom Onyeweagu (29 years old), Duke Okoro (40 years old), Joseph Osinachi (23 years old) and Onyocha Stanley (32 years old). They were said to be living in cities like Owerri, Asaba, Port Harcourt and Lagos State.
The arrest of the suspects has also been confirmed by the PRO of the Delta State Police Command, DSP Bright Edafe, who said that the suspects were arrested in a carefully coordinated operation.
DSP Edafe said that the police used information from reliable sources to trace and arrest the suspects, where they were hiding in at a hotel in Asaba and planning another operation. Below are more pictures of the suspects.
After the suspects were arrested, they confessed that they have defrauded many people in different parts of Delta State and that they use a POS machine to collect money from most of their victims.
Six victims that have lost a total of N21,200,000 Naira to the fake EFCC officers have also identified them. A white bus, two locally made EFCC jackets, 1 POS machine and 8 phones were seized from the suspects. The police is also looking for some of their fleeing members of the gang.
