DON’T BE INTIMIDATED BY THE CHALLENGES OF LIFE, FOCUS ON YOUR GOAL – Pastor Issac Olutimehin
TEXT:
Nehemiah 4:16 KJV.
“And it came to pass from that time forth, that the half of my servants wrought in the work, and the other half of them held both the spears, the shields, and the bows, and the habergeons; and the rulers were behind all the house of Judah”.
MESSAGE:
☆☆☆ Nehemiah, the builder, had come to rebuild the broken walls of Jerusalem.
☆☆☆ As expected, there were forces that opposed his efforts and tried to frustrate him.
☆☆☆ Among them were Sanballat and Tobiah.
☆☆☆ These men mounted forces together against Nehemiah and his people to stop them from rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem.
☆☆☆ Initially they started to mock and discourage them by calling them “feeble Jews” with feeble hands.
☆☆☆ They later went ahead to discredit their efforts by saying 👇
“Even that which they build, if a fox go up, he shall even break down their stone wall” – Nehemiah 4:3.
☆☆☆ Nevertheless, Nehemiah and his people remained focused and refused to be discouraged. They intensified their efforts to complete the project and they succeeded.
☆☆☆ When these enemies discovered that they refused to be discouraged, they now engaged them in fierce battle.
☆☆☆ Because Nehemiah and his people had a focus and a goal, they matched the enemies sword for sword.
☆☆☆ Beloved, when discouragement sets into your life which later may translate into attacks from left, right and center; it is because you are on the right path of success.
☆☆☆ Never be discouraged but always remember your goal and be focused.
☆☆☆ Also remember that the devil doesn’t bother himself with a man who is not making positive impacts.

In a forest, a pregnant deer is about to give birth. She finds a remote grass field near a strong-flowing river. This seems a safe place for her to deliver.
Suddenly, labour pains begin. At the same moment, dark clouds gather around above and lightening starts a forest fire.
She looks to her left and sees a hunter with his bow extended pointing at her. To her right, she spots a hungry lion approaching her.
What can the pregnant deer do? She is in labour!
What will happen?
Will she survive?
Will she give birth to a fawn?
Will the fawn survive?
Or will everything be burnt by the forest fire?
Will she perish by the hunter’s arrow?
Will she die a horrible death at the hands of the hungry lion approaching her?
She is constrained by the fire on the one side, the flowing river on the other side and boxed in by her natural predators.
What does the deer do?
She focuses on her goal which is giving birth to a new life.
The sequence of events that follows are:
– Lightening strikes and blinds the hunter.
– He releases the arrow which zips past the deer and strikes the hungry lion to death.
– It starts to rain heavily and the forest fire is slowly doused by the rain.
– The deer gives birth to a healthy fawn.
☆☆☆ Beloved, in life, when on the path of success; note that discouragements will come, natural challenges may emerge and there will surely be battles to fight.
☆☆☆ Let’s learn from the deer. The priority on her mind, in that moment, was simply to give birth to a baby.
☆☆☆ The rest was not in her hands. Any action or reaction that changed her focus would have likely resulted in death or disaster.
☆☆☆ This is why the bible counsels 👇
“Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass” – Psalm 37:5.
☆☆☆ Beloved, ask yourself, where do I put my focus?
☆☆☆ Nehemiah’s focus was to rebuild the broken walls of Jerusalem and he did.
☆☆☆ He trusted so much in God and he was not disappointed.
☆☆☆ Whosoever puts his trust in the arm of flesh, is already digging the pit of failure.
☆☆☆ For the bible warns 👇
“Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord” – Jeremiah 17:5.
☆☆☆ Take your focus away from your challenges and look up unto God.
☆☆☆ Remember that Peter started to drown the moment he concentrated on his challenges and looked away from God. Read Matthew 14:29-31.
PRAYERS
1. Oh God my father, don’t allow the challenges of life to remove my focus away from you.
2. Father, please don’t try my faith with challenges too much for me to bare.
3. Father, grant me the strength and grace to overcome my challenges in Jesus name.
4. I receive divine enablement to fly over my mountains in Jesus name.
5. Oh God my father, disappoint and disgrace every Sanballat and Tobiah trying to stop the good work you have started in my life.
6. I present the walls of my life before you Lord, please repair every crack in my life in Jesus name.
7. Father, please douse and quench every fire of challenges burning in my life.
8. I grab the sword of God and I slaughter every lion waiting to devour my glory and destiny.
9. Please Lord, don’t allow me to pass through this world without making positive impacts.
10. I refuse to die and be buried with my virtues, glory and star.
11. I will reach my goal and fulfill my purpose in life.
12. I will not become a disappointment to God.
PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS
I pray for somebody today and I decree, you will not lose your focus in life in Jesus name.
I prophesy, you will reach your goal in Jesus name.
I decree, every lion on your path, as you journey through life, shall be struck by the arrow of the Almighty God in Jesus name.
I decree, declare and prophesy, every power hunting your destiny shall be struck with blindness.
Those who gather together and waiting to mock and frustrate your efforts shall be amused and confounded with your success story in Jesus name.
Woman, I decree, every fire burning in your marriage right now shall be quenched by the flowing rivers of heaven in Jesus name.
I decree, every broken wall on your path of destiny fulfillment shall the Lord rebuild in Jesus name.
I prophesy, the broken walls of our Nation, Nigeria, and that of every other Nation of the world; shall the Lord remold in Jesus name.
In the name of Jesus, I prophesy, you will overcome every Sanballat, Tobiah and their agents mounting forces against your success.
Your victory is not negotiable.
You are already a success in Jesus mighty name.
Step out and fulfill the purpose of God for your life.
