Gunmen abduct businessman, wife, daughter, demand N20m ransom
Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers on Friday evening abducted a business man, Tope Faaji, his wife and one of his daughters in Owo local government area of Ondo state.
The three victims were abducted at the entrance of their house along Ipele road, Owo, while returning from their office after the day’s work.
A family source who confirmed the abduction of the business man, his wife and daughter, said they were about entering the house when the gunmen attacked them and whisked them away.
According to him, “We were together on Friday evening because we were fasting. I was with Tope in his wife’s shop before we parted ways to go and break our fast.

“But I later received a call from one of his sons, informing me that his father, mother, and sister had been kidnapped. We quickly rushed to his house and confirmed the sad news.
“The boy who called me was also with them in the vehicle but stepped out of the car to open the gate and he explained that while he was opening the gate, the kidnappers attacked them .
He said he managed to escape when he noticed the gunmen but said they whisked his father, mother and her younger sister away.
The source however, said the kidnappers had contacted the family of the victims, demanding for N30m as ransom to secure the release of the three victims.
He said “after negotiations, they reduced the ransom to N20m. When the kidnappers called, they initially demanded N30 million, but they later reduced it to N20 million,”
As of the time of filing this report, the abducted persons are still in the kidnappers’ den.
When contacted, the spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, Olufunmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, said, “I can’t confirm because I’m not sure I heard anything like that.”
