EFCC Raids 30 Suspects For Internet Fraud In Delta State

At least 30 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud have been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Asaba, Delta State.

The EFCC Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, in a statement signed in Friday noted that the operation was carried out by operatives from the Benin Zonal Directorate on Friday, March 14, 2025.

According to the statement, the arrests were based on credible intelligence regarding the suspects’ alleged involvement in cyber-related crimes.

He added that during the raid, EFCC operatives seized five exotic cars and several mobile phones believed to be linked to fraudulent activities.

The statement reads in part; “Operatives of the Benin Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Friday March 14, 2025 arrested 30 suspected internet fraudsters in Asaba, Delta State.

“The suspects were arrested based on credible intelligence on their alleged involvement in internet-related fraud. Items recovered from them at the point of arrest include five exotic cars and phones.

“The suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.”
