President Trump to impose travel ban on 43 countries
United States President Donald Trump is considering a travel ban that could affect 43 countries.
According to a report by Reuters, citing an internal memo and officials familiar with the plan, the proposed restrictions divide the affected countries into three groups—red, orange, and yellow—based on the severity of limitations they may face.
The red group consists of 11 countries, including Afghanistan, Iran, Sudan, Syria, Libya, Cuba, Bhutan, Venezuela, North Korea, Yemen, and Somalia.
Nationals from these countries could be completely barred from entering the US.
The orange group includes 10 countries—Russia, Belarus, Myanmar, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Pakistan, Laos, Turkmenistan, Haiti, and Eritrea.
Travelers from these nations may face strict visa restrictions.
The yellow group, which contains 22 countries, has been given a 60-day period to address US concerns.
These countries are Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Chad, Republic of Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Dominica, Equatorial Guinea, Gambia, Liberia, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, São Tomé and PrÃncipe, Vanuatu, and Zimbabwe.
The proposed restrictions are part of Trump’s immigration policies introduced at the beginning of his second term in January.
While the list has been drafted, a final decision has not yet been made, and adjustments could still be implemented before the policy is approved.
