The aircraft, an Antonov model, crashed during takeoff, resulting in the deaths and injuries of both military personnel and civilians.

Witnesses reported a loud explosion, with several homes in the area sustaining damage.

The crash also led to power outages in nearby neighbourhoods.

Rescue workers are still searching for bodies beneath the rubble, according to the health ministry linked to the army.

Emergency teams transported injured civilians, including children, to a nearby hospital.

A military source, speaking anonymously, attributed the crash to a technical failure.
