The house owners under the aegis, Landlords and landladies Association ( Ayetoro, Igbonna, Olonkoro, Old Garage, MDS and Olaiya) added that ten members of the association have died to the unexpected pronged payment of the N750million promised by the State Government.

Speaking with newsmen on Tuesday in Osogbo along with other affected owners, the Chairman, Mr Moshood Oladejo disclosed that since the Rauf Aregbesola-led administration demolished the buildings for the Osogbo-Ikirun-Kwara boundary road dualisation, their means of livelihood were taken away.

According to him, Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration must come to our aid by fast-tracking the payment to save our members from imminent death. We have lost ten members already due to the economic situation in the country.

The buildings affected were numerous from Orita Baba Onisekere – Ayetoro – Igbona Adenle – Olonkoro – Ajegunle – Old Garage – MDS and Orita Olaiya and the total value computed to be N750 million since 2012.

The Gboyega Oyetola-led administration in 2022 divided the payment into six tranches and released the first tranch of N150 million. Since then, we have not heard anything.

We are reminding the Governor in line with his promise during the electioneering campaign that our situation would be addressed, this is the best to remember us. The present inflation has rendered the said amount to be little to solve our problems.
