The victims were abducted around 1 am on Tuesday from their home in Alagede village, near Kola Daisi University, Akinyele Local Government Area of the state.

Following the abduction, a joint team of Amotekun operatives and local hunters launched a search operation and tracked the kidnappers to a forest in Ojutaye, along Oretu Road in Akinyele LGA.

During the pursuit, a hunter from Oretu village, identified only as Ojo, was killed while assisting the security team in chasing the kidnappers.

Confirming the operation to PUNCH Metro, the Oyo State Amotekun Commandant, Olayinka Olayanju, said his team and local hunters successfully located the kidnappers’ hideout in one of the forests in Akinyele LGA.

He added that the remains of the late Ojo were to be retrieved from the forest for burial.

Olayanju also said that as Amotekun operatives were evacuating the rescued victims to safety, the police Anti-Kidnapping Squad arrived and took custody of them.
