Present at the meeting included the chairman of Orile Agege LCDA, Johnson Babatunde, Chairman of Iba LCDA, Yisa Abiola Jubril, and Secretary to Alimosho Local Government, Dare Ogunkoya, who represented the Chairman of the Local Government, Jelili Adewale Sulaimon.

LAMATA, in a post on X, said the visit was to intimate the local authorities about the upcoming Purple Line rail project.

The Purple Line is a 57 km rail line, connecting Redemption Camp to Volkswagen and it will feature 17 stations and integrate with Lagos’s existing rail network.

LAMATA said the sensitisation precedes the scoping exercise, a mandatory step in the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment before project implementation.

The local authorities pledged to support LAMATA in the implementation of the project.
