EFCC Claims $120,548, N70.6million Returned To American, Spanish Fraud Victims

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has claimed it handed over $120,548.43 and N70,602,841.46 to victims of fraud from the United States, Spain, and Switzerland.

The EFCC said the move reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to tackling economic and financial crimes while ensuring restitution for those affected.

 

The funds, recovered from local fraudsters, were presented to representatives of the respective embassies in Nigeria.

 

The agency said the act aligns with EFCC’s ongoing efforts to curb fraudulent activities and return stolen assets to rightful owners.

 

 

EFCC in a statement on Friday stated, “As a gesture of its commitment to tackling economic and financial crimes and offering restitution to victims of fraudulent practices, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has handed over a total sum of $120, 548.43 (One Hundred and Twenty Thousand, Five Hundred and Forty Eight United States Dollars, Forty three cents and N70,602,841.46 (Seventy Million, Six Hundred and Two Thousand, Eight Hundred and Forty One Naira, Forty six kobo) to American, Spanish and Swiss victims of local fraudsters.”

 

The commission said it reaffirmed its dedication to international cooperation in fighting financial crime and ensuring justice for victims worldwide.
