Ifon Community Leaders seek for justice, make some demands.
In mournful mood, the Ifon Community Development Association has called for justice with full investigation into the recent unrest leading to the killings of two young men and damage done to some properties in the community.
The demand was contained in a statement signed by Hon. Dr. Saliu Omotosho, Chairman of the Ifon Community Development Association and the Publicity Secretary of the Association, Hon. Olaniyi Eni-Olotu as released to our heritage reporter on Monday morning.
The community leaders however appealed to the affected families that lost their loved ones to the unfortunate incident never to be forced to taking the laws into their hands as all hands must be on deck to fish out the perpetrators of the evil acts.

IFON COMMUNITY LEADERS DEMAND FOR JUSTICE.
On behalf of the good people of Ifon town, the Ifon Community Development Association wishes to express its displeasure over the questionable circumstances that led to the untimely death of Tolu Bobade and Bamise Orisamolade, both indigenes of Ifon town.
Tolu Bobade was allegedly tortured to death by some police officers in Ifon on Saturday, 15th of February, 2025 and was later rushed to a hospital, only to be confirmed dead on arrival.
While the community was yet to recover from the shock suffered from Tolu Bobade’s death, Bamise Orisamolade was reportedly shot at a very close range the following day by some police officers that came for reinforcement, while leading a peaceful protest in the town on Sunday, the 16th of February, 2025.
The sudden demise of Tolu Bobade and the circumstances surrounding it led to a protest that brought about the invasion of the Ifon police station by angry protesters.
The Ifon police station was razed down in the process, while some some other buildings in the town were either razed down or vandalized by angry protesters.
It is quite saddening that Ifon town had recorded some irreparable and reparable losses to the unfortunate incident as two lives were lost, while some properties were destroyed.
Consequently, the Ifon Community Development Association wishes to make makes the following demands;
1. A comprehensive investigation into the circumstances leading to the death of Tolu Bobade and Bamise Orisamolade with the attack on the Ifon police station, Pa Kokumo Olowodara and Mrs Bosede Ajibogun’s houses.
2. Making the outcome of the police investigation and the autopsy report on the two victims public.
Conclusively, the Ifon CDA strongly appeals to the families of the deceased persons and everyone that is aggrieved about the unfortunate incident never to be forced to resort to self help by taking the laws into their hands.
All hands must be on deck at this period to fix the Ifon police station without delay so as to enable all the police officers attached to the Ifon division perform their constitutional duties in protecting lives and property in Ifon town and its environs.
