IGP Appoints New Police Officers To Replace Those Involved In Age Falsification Saga
The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has ordered the redeployment of officers to fill positions left vacant by those forced to retire due to age falsification and document forgery.
A list of 467 officers who manipulated their records to extend their service was earlier published.
Some officers retired quietly, while others refused, prompting the police leadership to summon them before a disciplinary committee.
The affected officers, some in service for over four decades, include senior officials from various training courses.
Meanwhile, the police have confirmed the full implementation of the retirements.
A police memo directed all commands and departments to proceed with the decision, ensuring compliance with the regulations.
