Governor Suspends commissioner,board chairman Over Financial Allegations
Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has suspended Hon. Damian Lawani, Chairman of the Edo State Local Government Service Commission, and Hon. Samson Osagie, Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, due to allegations of significant official and financial misconduct.
The announcement was made via a statement from Umar Musah Ikhilor, the Secretary of State Government.
The suspension, which takes effect immediately, aims to facilitate a comprehensive investigation into the serious claims against both officials.
Governor Okpebholo has instructed the establishment of an Investigative Committee to thoroughly explore the allegations and provide appropriate recommendations.
