Just In : Eze Ilomuanya, other Orlu monarchs endorse Omeogo for 2023 Reps Seat
The Traditional Ruler of Obinugwu cum Chairman of Imo State Council of Elders, HRM, Eze Dr. Cletus Ilomuanya together with other Orlu monarchs, HRM, Eze Sampson Okwudinma, of Nnenato Ochasi and Chairman of Orlu Council of Traditional Rulers, HRH, Eze Cyriacus Mkpado, the Duruanosike 11th of Umuzike Ancient Kingdom, HRH, Eze Ugonna Iriele, Duruoshimiri of Ogberuru Ancient Kingdom, had over the weekend endorsed, as well as gave nod to the APC candidate for Orlu, Orsu and Oru East Federal Constituency for the 2023 poll, Hon. High Chief Canice Moore Nwachukwu popularly called Omeogo, Ogbaturuenyi na Orlu.
The endorsement of Omeogo which took place at the Owerri Civic Center residence of Eze Ilomuanya, saw prominent sons and daughters of Orlu and Orsu who came as witnesses to the great occasion.
Expressing happiness, Eze Ilomuanya affirmed that Omeogo is a candidate generally accepted by all as such seeking for his royal blessing is something nobody would withhold him from doing. The First Class Royal Father added that “following all your good testimonies, Omeogo is a good candidate whose victory at the 2023 election will bring great opportunity for the people”.
Eze Ilomuanya further described Omeogo’s political journey to be a good one as he prayed that it would end well.
“Omeogo is a good person. God blessed us and gave us Governor Hope Uzodimma. You people have said Omeogo is the right person for the Rep Seat. What remains now is full implementation. We have agreed Omeogo is the one going for us. You are going there for service and to be the Governor’s eyes. Please, do not disappoint us”, he maintained.
Earlier speaking, the APC candidate for Orlu, Orsu and Oru East Federal Constituency, Hon. High Chief Canice Moore Nwachukwu, explained that his visit was geared to seek royal permission and blessing to enable him canvas support from the people of Orlu and Orsu where the monarchs domiciled.
He stated that with the contact of Eze Ilomuanya, it will help him both at the election time and his stay at the National Assembly if he emerges victorious.
According to Omeogo, “my coming is simple. We are your subjects, mainly from Orlu and Orsu and top leaders of APC. I am grateful for the opportunity to have you one on one. Every four years just like our constitution, candidates will be selected either to represent the people at the state or federal level, but before campaign will be lifted, I decided to come for your royal blessing, support and encouragement, looking at your good attributes, we decided to dance around you, and climb on your shoulders, if we have your blessings, support and confirmation our victory is assured”.
Cementing Omeogo’s speech, the Apex Leader of the Constituency who is also the Imo State Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice, Barrister C. O. C Akaolisa, said he is sure that Omeogo is the best candidate for the Seat.
“Am here to be a witness to this visit today, sending Omeogo to the Federal House will not be by mistake. We must deliver his candidature. We are going to use all that we have to deliver Omeogo to the House of Reps. It is the turn of Orlu clan, Orsu had produced a federal lawmaker and Oru East has the Governor, to balance it, Orlu is the LGA to produce next federal legislator”.
Adding his voice, the former house member who represented Oru East at the Imo State House of Assembly, Hon. John Ikenna Nzeruo, observed that Oru East plays politics of inclusiveness, hence they support Omeogo who is from Orlu, saying no person from Oru East LGA is contesting, affirming that Oru East is fully in support of Omeogo and will put all the necessary things in place to make him emerge victorious at the forthcoming poll.
With the immediate past IMC Chairman of Orlu LGA, who also is the Imo State APC Woman Leader, Hon. Mrs. Ifeoma Ndukwu and Chief Dona Nworgu, a leader in Nwangele, revealing that the people are on one page and fully supporting Omeogo as they described Nwachukwu’s mandate to be a divine one.
The high point of the visit was the laying of hands and pouring of royal blessing upon Hon. High Chief Canice Moore Nwachukwu by the Orsu and Orlu traditional rulers led by Eze Cletus Illomuanya.
