How EFCC Searched My House To Check If I Was Printing Counterfeit Notes, Claimed I Was Into Money Laundering —Bobrisky
The influencer was summoned for questioning regarding viral leaked audio recordings in which Bobrisky allegedly confessed to bribing NCoS officials to evade imprisonment.
Controversial Nigerian crossdresser and social media influencer Idris Okunleye, better known as Bobrisky, has narrated how the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) searched his house, alleging that he was printing counterfeit notes and involved in money laundering.
In October 2024, Bobrisky was arrested at the Seme border while trying to enter Benin Republic to escape an investigation by the House of Representatives into alleged bribery of officials of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) to avoid imprisonment.
The influencer was summoned for questioning regarding viral leaked audio recordings in which Bobrisky allegedly confessed to bribing NCoS officials to evade imprisonment.
The crossdresser was also later arrested by security operatives at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos last November while attempting to leave Nigeria for London amid allegations of bribery against him.
He finally left Nigeria four days after the incident.
In his recent post on his Instagram stories, Bobrisky described EFCC as wicked and worse than the Nigeria Police Force when it comes to brutality and harassment of citizens.
Bobrisky made these remarks after the EFCC expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss of one of its officers, Assistant Superintendent Aminu Sahabi Salisu (ASE II), who was fatally attacked while on duty on January 17, 2025.
The suspect in the incident is identified as Joshua Chukwubueze Ikechukwu, an alleged internet fraudster.
The Commission said it “views with great concern the irresponsible, callous, inhuman and outrageous narratives being circulated on social media on the whys and wherefores of the fatal accident”.
“It is heinous to reduce the death of a gallant officer who was carrying out patriotic and official duties to social media razzmatazz,” it added.
The anti-graft said it was also worrisome that some “faceless commentators” were supporting an alleged criminal who “unleashed terror on officers of the EFCC in their line of duty”.
The cross-dresser responded to the statement by posting on his Instagram stories, “I just don’t like reading anything about EFCC online, cus I feel like I want to throw up each time I read about them.”
He said the EFCC’s appeal for sympathy was funny, considering how they treat Nigerians.
“You are asking the public to be human about the loss of one of your staff, but you are the most wicked people in Nigeria,” he wrote.
He continued: “When I was in your custody, you took me to my house and searched my house. When I asked why, you claimed I’m into money laundering and wanted to check if I’m printing money in my house. Police are 100 better than you all 1million times.
“After writing my statement you asked me to give you papaya number I told you I don’t have her no, even if I’m not talking to her I wont be heartless to set her up like that cos i wasn’t train to be a snitch.”
He said if he was a bad citizen, he would left Nigeria immediately he received an invitation letter from the EFCC
“But I said no I’m a public figure let me honor their invitation,” he added.
