We Must Ensure PDP Remain Standing – Fubara Charges Youths

Rivers State Governor Simi Fubara has charged youths in the Peoples Democratic Party to make sure that the political party remain standing in the south-south state.

The governor is still slugging it out with his predecessor and benefactor Nyesom Wike over the structure of the party in the state. They are both struggling to have control of the party with Wike arguing that the governor has betrayed him.

Mr. Fubara was hosting the youth leaders at the Government House, Port Harcourt on Sunday when he emphasized that he remained in the PDP albeit the skirmishes within the state chapter of the party.

“On our part, we are doing our best in the state to ensure that the true soul of the party is kept alive. And when I say the true soul, you understand that we are not adulterated—we are the true PDP, and we remain PDP. We are doing everything to make sure we stand strong.”

Without explaining, he said that his loyalty had been questioned and that made him to use desperate measures during what he called desperate situations.

There have been instances where our loyalty has been questioned, but desperate situations require desperate measures”

“So, maybe a few things we have done in the course of ensuring that we continue good governance might have been misinterpreted. However, that does not mean we are not PDP. We must ensure that our government moves forward”.
