‘You took $625k, stop playing victim’ — EeZee Conceptz founder refutes Mercy Chinwo’s fraud claim
Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu, the founder of EeZee Conceptz and former manager of Mercy Chinwo, the gospel singer, has denied allegations of financial misconduct.
His response comes after an arrest warrant was issued in his name, with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) charging him with theft.
The EFCC had alleged that Onyedikachukwu misappropriated $345,000 in royalties belonging to Chinwo.
In several Instagram posts, Onyedikachukwu claimed innocence and accused Chinwo of weaponizing law enforcement and religious affiliations against him.
He also alleged that Chinwo had received $625,000 from him but had publicly portrayed herself as a victim of a bad contract.
“$625,000 – that is how much you have received from the eeZee concept to date. But you would prefer to insulate that part to keep deceiving people and weeping sentiments on how you signed a bad contract or had been mistreated,” he wrote.
“It’s the same deal you desperately pursued me for years and had to get third parties to impress on EeZee Conceptz to sign you.
“Despite offering a 50/50 gross earnings ratio, you are still trying to weaponize law enforcement and religious organisations to take over a catalogue you did not spend one Naira on.
“You’ve received over $625,000, but this situation persists. While claiming and singing it’s all for Jesus, your actions paint a different picture.”
Onyedikachukwu further accused Chinwo of attempting to claim ownership of a music catalogue fully funded by the label.
The singer is yet to respond to these allegations.
Mercy Chinwo is not the only former artiste to have a contractual dispute with Onyedikachukwu.
Recently, Judikay accused the label boss of theft.
She claimed he defrauded her of £800,000 by falsifying financial records and altering streaming data.
