Government to Clamp Down on Substandard Schools
The Commissioner for Education in Ebonyi State, Professor Paul Nwobashi has restated the government’s readiness to clamp down on substandard primary and secondary schools in the state.
He made the remark in Abakaliki, the state capital on Friday.
The commissioner stated that all schools in the state would be opening on Monday, January 13, 2025, noting that any school that deviates from the date would be sanctioned.
Nwobashi gave an assurance that the 22-classroom model school block with an aesthetic design, ongoing in different zones in the state, would be completed soon.
The commissioner, spoke of the state government’s readiness to improve manpower in the educational system, stating that successful applicants who sat for the teachers’ recruitment test would soon be made public.
He called on parents to rise to their responsibilities in ensuring that their children are up and doing.
