Ondo Governor Aide, Hon. Wellington Adebawo Strengthens Ties with Ondo University Of Medical Sciences On Emergency Response
A meeting between the Special Assistant to Ondo State Governor on Emergency Response, Hon. (Prince) Wellington Oriade Adebawo, and the management of the University of Medical Sciences, Ondo (UNIMED), led by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Adesegun Fatusi, was held on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, focusing on areas of partnership and strategies to enhance emergency response in the state.
The meeting which was held at the institution had in attendance the management officials of UNIMED and the team of the Special Assistant to Ondo State Governor on Emergency Response.
During the meeting, the Vice-chancellor of the school, Prof. Fatusi, expressed his gratitude to Hon. Adebawo for reaching out to the management of UNIMED after an oversight error in inviting him to the emergency response training organized by the institution, saying the action was a significant step towards fostering a stronger relationship between the state government and the university.
In his remarks, Hon. Adebawo appreciated the management of UNIMED for the warm reception and warm embrace accorded him. He emphasized that the synergy his office has formed with the institution will go a long way in enhancing emergency response in the state.
The Special Assistant noted that he is keen on boosting emergency response services in the state, aimed at saving lives and reducing the impact of disasters. He added that he would continue to work tirelessly to ensure that the state is prepared to respond to emergencies and disasters.
Hon. Adebawo thereafter embarked on a comprehensive tour of the university environment. During the tour, he inspected the emergency response facility in the institution, and was visibly impressed with the level of modern emergency response equipment and infrastructure available.
The Special Assistant commended the management of the University of Medical Sciences for their commitment to providing a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors. He noted that the institution’s emergency response facility was a shining example of the university’s dedication to excellence and its commitment to preparing students for the challenges of the modern world.
