Group raises alarm over increasing harassment” of innocent people by the military in Ondo
describes the development as disquieting and capable of leading to another round of unrest in the region.. ….
The president of Ondo North youth for Good Governance, (ONYGG) comrade Ogunbiyi Ismail Adewale also known as Dickson stated this, said the military has unwholesome intensional by the incessant harassment of innocent people for a crime that was committed by four people which police and army have their details already. names, address including pictures.
Dickson who described the action as unpalatable. He said “on Tuesday 26th Nov. 2024, there was an issue between two guys which led to fights that was when the military man came to the scene without uniform trying to settle the fight but triggered more riots which one of the guys later called his 3 friends to join him to fight.
In a nutshell, this military man was beaten by these 4 guys” according to the reports collected so far.
Dickson portray the action of fighting security personnel as unwelcome, atrocious and barbaric.
The military action after the incident is getting too much and becoming unrest and nuisance, can we say they are looking for Christmas money or what ??
Because they already have the details of the offenders so why still packing innocent people and collect #50,000 from each person for the bail ?
They are now causing chaos in the society and bringing people to sudden debt. For example one of the people they packed sold his brand new sewing machine at giveaway price just to pay his own #50,000 And 3 guys from same mother that were forced to sell brand new boxer motorcycle just to get set free… and many others innocent people selling their properties to pay #50,000, the soldier man also claimed that he lost up to 2million naira in his pocket during the fight
The situation is getting worse as these army make this as their latest business.
We are calling on Kábíyèsí Olúkàré Oba Akadri Saliu Momoh and Ondo state governor to find solution to this issue as it’s affecting the economy of the town because there’s no Free movement in the area.
