A coalition of Nigerian Patriots under the auspices of Dream Nigeria Movement and the Youth Advocates For Peace Justice and Empowerment Network (YAPJEN) has called on the National Assembly members to pass a vote of no confidence as well as Impeach the Senate President, Senator Ahmed Lawan to have way for impeachment proceedings against President Muhammad Buhari in other to save the Nigeria state from further drifting into the hands of non state actors and terrorist groups.

The group decried the rising spate of insecurity in Nigeria, describing the recent attack on the Nigeria Correctional Centre, Kuje Abuja, the terrorist attack on Presidential Convoy advance team in Kastina state among other several security breaches as an evidence that President Buhari has failed abysmally In his constitutional duty as enshrined in section 14 of the Nigerian Constitution.

*In his words, Amb. Timothy Nwachukwu (LLB), The Leader of the Coalition and President, Youth Advocate For Peace Justice And Empowerment Network (YAPJEN) stated thus “Kuje jail break is just one of many recent jail breaks across the country despite the revelation that intelligence was shared with the security agencies ahead of the attack, the continued incarceration of the victims of Kaduna terrorist Train Attack, the recent revelation by the former Managing Director of Kaduna State Media Corporation, Abdulrra’uf who was quoted to have said that farmers paid over four hundred million naira in taxes to bandits and terrorist before they were allowed to plant and harvest their crops, the breakdown of law and order across Nigeria, and the manifest insecurity which has bedevilled the nation is an attestation to the incompetence, cluelessness, powerlessness and incapacity of President Buhari led federal government.”*

*”Meanwhile, the leadership of the 9th National Assembly under Senator Ahmed Lawan is an accessory to the current woes of the country, and cannot be absolved.”*

*”Nigeria’s National Assembly is the second organ of government which ought to be free and independent from the control of the Executive, yet the leadership of the National Assembly have made it an extension and apron string of the executive.”*

*”The current National Assembly should largely be blamed for failing to implement the doctrine of checks and balances to ensure that the president and his appointees discharges thier statutory obligations in line with national interest and aspirations.”*

*”Therefore, it is pertinent for the members of the National Assembly to pass a vote of no confidence on the leadership of the Senate, Impeach the Senate President as well as commence the process of impeaching president Buhari as he has failed to honourably resign because he is incompetent and clearly lacks idea to govern Nigeria.”*
