Ondo Government mark llegally Constructed Gas Station for Removal in Akure, Sends strong warning to other Vendors

The Special Assistant to the Ondo State Governor on Emergency Response, Hon. (Prince) Oriade Wellington Adebawo, and his team conducted an inspection visit to an illegally constructed gas station located in the Oke Aro area of Akure, the state capital.
Upon arrival, Hon. Adebawo and his team observed that the gas station was built in flagrant disregard of safety protocols and regulatory approvals, posing significant risks to nearby residents, road users and a welding facility.
The gas station’s proximity to residential houses, a major road and a welding facility raised serious concerns about potential fire hazards, explosions and environmental pollution.
Hon. Adebawo promptly marked the structure for removal, citing gross violations of state regulations and safety standards.
While speaking, Hon. Adebawo said, “The Ondo State Government will not tolerate any development that compromises the safety and well-being of its citizens. This gas station poses unacceptable risks to the community, and its removal is imperative.”
The gas station’s owner was afterwards notified to dismantle the structure within a specified timeframe as failure to comply will result in enforcement action by the office of the Special Assistant to the Governor on Emergency Response
The Special Assistant on Emergency Response noted that Ondo State Government will conduct further inspections to identify and address similar safety hazards statewide, saying the decisive action demonstrates Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s administration’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding Ondo State’s citizens and upholding regulatory standards.
He however sends strong warnings to other Gas vendors across the state to prioritize safety of the people first while setting up thier business as Government agency will be moving out henceforth to pull down all illegal gas stations, the Governor’s Aide Added.
