Election Results Trickle In, INEC Uploads About 400 Polling Units On IREV Portal
At PU017, Community High School, Kiribo, Apoi ward 2, Ese-Odo LGA, APC received 124 votes and the PDP got 83.
Results of the ongoing governorship election in Ondo State have started to trickle in.
About 419 of the 3,933 polling units results have been released.
According to onfield reports, at PU014, Open Space at Madagbayu, Apoi ward 2, Ese-Odo LGA, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had 97 votes, All Progressives Congress (APC) 49 and ADC 1.
At Lisa Ward 02, Polling 052, Akure South LGA, the total registered voters stood at 697, however 73 voters were accredited, APC scored 43, PDP, 29 and NNPP, 1.
At PU017, Community High School, Kiribo, Apoi ward 2, Ese-Odo LGA, APC received 124 votes and the PDP got 83.
Results in many other polling units have been counted with the process in other places still ongoing.
INEC is expected to announce a winner for the election after completion of all collation processes and exercises.
Already the PDP candidate has alleged bias in the conduct of the election.
He had expressed concerns over the electoral process after casting his vote at Apoi Ward 11, Unit 004 in Ese-Odo Local Government Area.
Ajayi had expressed frustration with the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) malfunctioning, which delayed his accreditation for about 10 minutes.
He had stated, “The system has been compromised. It is sad INEC can’t conduct election well in one state.”
The criticism suggests that Ajayi doubts the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) ability to ensure a fair and smooth electoral process.
The PDP candidate’s dissatisfaction had echoed earlier complaints from his party about BVAS malfunctions and potential bias from INEC officials, particularly the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Barrister Olatoyin Babalola.
Ajayi had questioned the REC’s impartiality, saying, “We have said it severally that we don’t trust Barrister Olatoyin Babalola, that this woman can’t be fair” he stated.
