Just In : Gunmen invade Palace, abduct Traditional Rulers
Gunmen have kidnapped Eze Ambrose Ogbu, the traditional ruler of the Isuokoma autonomous community in the Onicha local government area of Ebonyi State.
It was learnt that the monarch was taken hostage at his palace in Isu on Wednesday night by unidentified individuals.
It was also reported that his family member has not heard from the kidnappers who are yet to make contact with them.
A stakeholder in the community, who pleaded for anonymity, confirmed the incident to newsmen.
He stated that as of Thursday morning, the royal father’s kidnappers had not gotten in touch with the family.
” He was kidnapped last night at his palace. But the kidnappers have not made any contact with the family or the community. We have been waiting but no contact yet,” the source said.
Aliyu Garba, the Commissioner of Police in Ebonyi, verified the incident.
He claimed that the command was making every effort to find the monarch and free him from his captors.
“He was in his house and they came and abducted him. No contact has been established with the abductors,” he said
Stanley Emegha, the State Government’s security consultant, said he will call back later and provide further information.
