‘Nigeria needs divine intervention for economic stability’ – Oluremi Tinubu
The Disciples of Jagaban, a support group backing President Bola Tinubu, has defended the upcoming national prayers aimed at seeking divine intervention to address the country’s economic challenges.
The prayers, which will be led by First Lady Oluremi Tinubu and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, have garnered both support and criticism.
Some Nigerians, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, have mocked the idea.

However, the National Coordinator of Disciples of Jagaban, Adegoke Alawuje, in a statement on Wednesday, emphasised that Nigeria’s current economic situation and the challenges faced by President Tinubu’s administration require divine intervention for success.
Alawuje urged Nigerians to set aside personal sentiment and recognise the significant achievements of the president.
He said, “President Tinubu’s policies are not punishments but strategies for survival. It cannot be as easy as many may expect. Tinubu is like a compassionate doctor who, despite hearing the cry of a sick child, continues to administer the necessary treatment because he knows that after the pain comes relief.”
Alawuje also commended the President for reducing Nigeria’s debt service-to-revenue ratio by 32% in just 17 months, describing it as a remarkable achievement.
He urged Nigerians to continue praying for the president, acknowledging his bold decisions in steering the country toward economic recovery.
