In a press release co-signed by 11 leaders of various ethnic groups and 4 social organisations, Godstime noted that this visionary move underscores the President’s commitment to fostering inclusive growth and addressing Nigeria’s distinct regional needs.

“The establishment of the Ministry of Regional Development is a significant milestone in Nigeria’s journey towards equitable development, presents a broader and more comprehensive approach compared to the former Ministry of Niger Delta. This expanded scope will enable a more balanced development agenda, catering not only to the Niger Delta but to all regions, fostering a sense of unity and shared progress across the nation. Through this ministry, we anticipate enhanced investment, job creation and infrastructural development that will uplift communities across Nigeria, empowering regions to leverage on their unique strengths and resources”, Godstime explained.

Furthermore, the vice President of ELFON (North Central), Alhaji Musbaudeen Esinrogunjo affirmed that the recent cabinet reshufflement demonstrates a commitment to placing experienced and capable leaders in key roles to drive impactful governance.
Esinrogunjo maintained that the appointment Engineer Abubakar Momoh as the Minister of Regional Development is a well deserved one as he described Momoh as a round peg in a round hole who has the courage, wisdom, tenacity and capacity to pilot the affairs of the new ministry.

Lending his voice, the President of Youth Federation of Nigeria, Comrade Aliyu Mubarak Rimi confirmed that ELFON remains optimistic that these changes will accelerate ongoing reforms and policy initiatives aimed at uplifting Nigerian youth, empowering local businesses and ensuring that every Nigerian, regardless of region, experiences the dividends of democracy.

ELFON urges all stakeholders, including government agencies, private sector players and civil society organizations, to lend their support and collaborate with the Ministry of Regional Development and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in realizing these goals. As an organization dedicated to promoting youth involvement in Nigeria’s socio-political landscape, we are encouraged by this forward-looking approach and the President’s commitment to sustainable and inclusive national development, Godstime concluded.
