BREAKING: Finance minister suspends Accountant General of the Federation
The Minister of Finance, Budget, and National Planning, Mrs. Zainab Ahmed has suspended the Accountant General of the Federation, Mr. Ahmed Idris.
The suspension was due to the alleged fraud being committed by the AGF.
You will recall, that the EFCC had arrested him on Monday, 16th May 2022 for a case of fraud to the tune of N80 Billion (Eighty Billion Naira) only.
The letter which in part read, that the suspension became necessary “to allow for proper and unhindered investigation into the serious allegations in line with Public Service Rules
The letter further conveys the suspension is also without pay effective from 18th May 2022. ” During this period, you are not expected to attend to your place of work or contact any official in your Office except for any disciplinary hearing that may be advised”.
