The expenditure would mean that the “capacity building” cost the state N6 million per lawmaker, based on details published on its budget performance document.

A SaharaReporters’ review of the Anambra State budget performance documents has shown that the state under Governor Chukwuma Soludo spent the sum of N180million in September 2023 for capacity development of 30 lawmakers in the state.

The expenditure would mean that the “capacity building” cost the state N6 million per lawmaker, based on details published on its budget performance document.

This money is more than what the state spent on building a science and technology, innovation/invention Centre in Nnewi, Anambra state. The state spent N141 million for this project.

The amount is also more the N174.2million spent on asphalting roads in the north senatorial region of the state, it is also more than the N178.8million spent on same purposes for the Anambra south senatorial zone.

It is also more than the N70million spent on maintenance of zero pothole in Anambra central area of the state and more than the N35.2million spent on road repairs in Anambra North.

The N180 million spent will build six solar powered borehole in the state at the rate of N33million per borehole.
