Accident control : Ondo Govt announces strategic partnership with NURTW

Office of the Special Assistance to the Governor on Emergency Response, led by Prince Wellington Adebawo in collaboration with the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Ondo State Chapter,under the chairmanship of Hon. Ademola Odudu is proud to announce a strategic partnership focused on enhancing road transport safety across Ondo State. This initiative is aimed at reducing accidents, improving the safety of passengers and drivers, and promoting best practices in road transport.

Key areas of collaboration include:

1. Driver Education and Training:Regular workshops will be organized for NURTW members to improve their knowledge on defensive driving, safety practices, and emergency response. This will empower drivers with the skills necessary to prevent accidents and respond effectively to emergencies.

2. Emergency Response Coordination: A streamlined response protocol will be established to ensure swift action during road accidents. This includes enhancing communication between emergency services and the NURTW to ensure rapid medical intervention and efficient traffic management.

3. Safety Awareness Campaigns: Both parties will run state-wide safety campaigns, encouraging the use of seat belts, compliance with traffic laws, and discouraging reckless driving. Public awareness is a key element of the partnership to foster a culture of road safety.

4. Infrastructure Improvements: Joint advocacy efforts will focus on improving road infrastructure such as signage, lighting, and road conditions, ensuring a safer travel environment for everyone on the roads of Ondo State.
