Just In :Kano APC, Ganduje anoints his deputy Nasiru Gawuna as Successor
Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje on Saturday night anointed his Deputy, Nasiru Gawuna as his successor.
Mr. Gawuna was endorsed by Ganduje during a stakeholders meeting held at the Kano State Government House.
However, Murtala Sule Garo, the erstwhile Kano State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy was picked as his running mate, ahead of the upcoming primary elections of the ruling party.
Findings by Kano based news outlet, Politics Digest, revealed that Former Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly and Chairman House Committee on Pension, Kabiru Alhassan Rurum, who was not satisfied with the decision of Governor Ganduje has announced his defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The action according to the former Speaker was unfair not only to him but to the Kano South Senatorial District that has not produced a governor or deputy since 1992.
Sources who spoke to our correspondent said he will be announcing his new party in few days after consultation with members of his campaign directorate and political associates.
