ADD SALT IN EXCESS – Pastor Isaac Olutimehin
TEXT:
Ezra 7:22 KJV.
“Unto an hundred talents of silver, and to an hundred measures of wheat, and to an hundred baths of wine, and to an hundred baths of oil, *and salt without prescribing how much.*
*MESSAGE*
☆☆☆ The book of Ezra is about the return of some Jewish exiles from Babylon to Jerusalem.
☆☆☆ This book also gave an account of the restoration of life and worship to the people.
☆☆☆ Under the leadership of Ezra, an expert in the law of God, he helped the Jewish people to reorganize their religious and social lives in other to safeguard the spiritual heritage of Israel.
☆☆☆ When Ezra was to return to Jerusalem, he found favour in the sight of king Artaxerxes of Babylon who made a decree that Ezra should be supported with whatever he had need of for the rebuilding of the temple of God.
☆☆☆ Hear the king speak 👇
“And I, even I Artaxerxes the king, do make a decree to all the treasurers which are beyond the river, that whatsoever Ezra the priest, the scribe of the law of the God of heaven, shall require of you, it be done speedily” – Ezra 7:21.
☆☆☆ You will now discover from our main scripture for today, that the quantity of all the items approved for Ezra was in the measurement of hundreds.
☆☆☆ However, the quantity of salt approved for him was “without prescribing how much”. Salt in excess!! you will say
☆☆☆ You are already wondering why salt should be given as much as Ezra would have need of, even much more!!!
☆☆☆ Beloved, this is going to be our main issue for discussion today.
☆☆☆ When Jesus was teaching in Matthew, the fifth chapter, he said 👇
“Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men” – Matthew 5:13.
☆☆☆ Beloved, you and I are that “salt without prescribing how much”.
☆☆☆ God expects us to season the life of everyone we come in contact with “without prescribing how much”.
☆☆☆ You are to bring joy and taste to your environment and that should be without measure.
☆☆☆ You must be able to impact lives positively and without measure too.
☆☆☆ The danger of not doing so is that one stands the risk of losing his savour.
☆☆☆ When the salt loses its savour, it will be a cast away and be trodden upon under the foot of men.
☆☆☆ Beloved, have you discovered why you are posted to where you are right now!!! Even if you think that those who sent you there are trying to punish you.
☆☆☆ You should always remember that God does not make mistakes beloved.
☆☆☆ He allows whatever happens to you for a purpose.
☆☆☆ God expects you to shine as light to illuminate your dark environment.
☆☆☆ If there is crisis where you find yourself now, God wants you, as salt of the earth, to resolve it.
☆☆☆ Are other people’s marriages passing through tough challenges!!! Let your marriage be a shinning example to get them out of their own storms.
☆☆☆ You are not an accident beloved but you are positioned to be a salt unto others “without prescribing how much”.
☆☆☆ You as salt of the earth can never be in excess. In essence, the good you do cannot be in excess.
☆☆☆ Keep doing the good works for the rewarder is watching and he will surely reward.
☆☆☆ People may insult you and reward you evil for the good you have done, please do remember that you are the salt of the earth.
☆☆☆ Once you allow the devil to use his agents to derail you, you have lost your savour and can no longer be used by God.
☆☆☆ Saul lost his savour and God had no need of him anymore and he was replaced. Read 1 Samuel 15:1-23.
☆☆☆ The danger of losing one’s savour is that God has several replacements waiting to take your place.
☆☆☆ Prophet Elijah was discouraged and he was about giving up but he reminded God that after him, prophet Elijah, there would be nobody to continue the work. He was amazed when God told him that there were 7,000 of his kind contending for his position. Read 1 Kings 19:14,18.
*PRAYERS*
1. Oh God my father, please don’t allow me to lose my relevance in your kingdom.
2. Father, don’t allow me to surrender my seat for the devil to occupy.
3. Please Lord, open my eyes and my spirit of understanding to know why you have posted me to where I am currently.
4. Oh God, let me discover my purpose in life and and give me the grace to fulfill same.
4. In the journey of life, please Lord, don’t allow me to give up at the peak of success.
5. My father, my father, don’t allow me to bow to the spirit of error in Jesus name.
6. Empower me Lord to stand my ground for you despite the provocation and persecution of men.
7. Oh God my father, please allow me to impact positively, the lives of anyone you bring my path in Jesus name.
8. For every assignment you have committed into my hands, please Lord, don’t allow me to disappoint you.
9. Father, help me and don’t allow the affairs of this world to pollute and truncate my usefulness.
10. Help me to finish well and finish strong in Jesus name.
*PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS*
I pray for you today, may you discover your purpose where you are right now in Jesus name.
You are created to season the lives of others, may your seasoning not lose its savour.
I decree and declare, you will not lose your relevance in the kingdom of God.
May you not become a cast away to be trodden upon under the foot of men.
I decree, you will not become an accident to your generation.
You will not become a disappointment to God.
Receive a divine illumination to brighten the lives of others in Jesus name.
The God of heaven will give your life a lifting for you to continue to shine brighter and brighter in Jesus name.
The Lord will preserve and keep you unpolluted till he appears in his glory in Jesus name.
You are that “salt without prescribing how much”, so you will continue to be in Jesus mighty name.
Shine on beloved, in the wonderland of the atmosphere of miracles.
