Four Killed, Over 20 Injured In Late-night Shooting In U.S. State
Three victims were declared dead at the scene, and a fourth died at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital.
Amass shooting in Birmingham’s popular nightlife district left four dead and over 20 injured on Saturday night.
The Birmingham Police Department reported multiple gunshot victims on 20th Street near Magnolia Avenue in the Five Points South area, Associated Press reports.
Officer Truman Fitzgerald confirmed that the shooting occurred just after 11 p.m., with “dozens of gunshot victims” and at least four suffering “life-threatening” injuries.
Three victims were declared dead at the scene, and a fourth died at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital.
Police identified the deceased as two men and a woman, according to WBMA-TV. Other victims were taken to hospitals by private vehicles.
“We will do everything we possibly can to make sure we uncover, identify and hunt down whoever is responsible for preying on our people this morning,” Fitzgerald told WBMA. No arrests have been made yet.
