Tragedy as Correctional Officer Kills his Colleague over minor dispute
A Correctional Officer at the Burra Correctional Centre in Bauchi State has allegedly murdered a fellow officer over a minor food dispute.
The incident took place on Tuesday around 2 PM in Burra, Ningi Local Government Area of the State.
Eyewitnesses reported that the deceased, Aliyu Abubakar Chiroma, and the suspect, Kabiru Abubakar, were close friends.
The argument escalated when Chiroma brought his lunch and Kabiru demanded to eat, leading to the fatal confrontation.
The Public Relations Officer Aminu Ahmed confirmed that the incident occurred outside the facility.
Chiroma was from Giade LGA, while Kabiru is from Dass LGA.
The deceased’s body has been released to his family for burial, and Kabiru is in police custody as investigations proceed.
